Cactus explosion mandala inspired by the jardin botanico at Chapultepec, in Mexico City. I first visited Mexico as a small child, and remember drawing rows upon rows of palm trees and cacti after we returned North. There was something fascinating and foreign about these exotic plants, so far removed from the spruce, willow and pine that filled my Yukon window view. Today's adventure reminded me of my love for drawing this prickly plant, and to open my eyes to life's magical wonders, which are so easily observed when traveling. Oftentimes, we fall prey to routines and schedules that blind us from discovering wonder and newness in our days. The magic is always available to us, in every passing moment, we just need to open our eyes to it.
